Randolph Out With Mono

DURHAM, N.C. - Duke junior forward Shavlik Randolph will be sidelined indefinitely due to a case of mononucleosis.

"Shavlik is a very integral part of our team, and we feel badly for him." Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski said. "We're confident that he will get the rest and treatments that he needs in order to return in good health."

In helping the sixth-ranked Blue Devils to an 8-0 start this season, Randolph has averaged 6.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game while ranking among the team leaders in blocked shots (second-19), steals (third-11) and assists (fourth-12).

Duke is next in action on January 2, 2005 when the Blue Devils open ACC play at home versus Clemson.
