Paulus and CBA Fall In Glaxo Opener

Duke bound point guard Greg Paulus did all he could for the CBA Brothers, but in the end it was Bunn High standout Freddy Little who stole the show as CBA fell on Day One at Glaxo.

After falling behind early, Christian Brother Academy turned to Duke bound Greg Paulus who hit for 10 first half points to cut into big lead and cut it to a managable halftime score of 36-26.

Little was the star of the first period, going for an amazing 25 points in the opening stanza while Paulus managed 10 points of his own while handing out six assists and trying to get a more balanced attack from his teammates.

The second half saw CBA slowly chip away at the lead before Paulus ducked inside and tipped in a missed shot attempt to trim the lead to just 65-63 with 30 seconds to play. After a pair of Bunn free throws, Paulus drove into the lane where Little was waiting to block the shot.

Bunn would convert another pair of free throws before Paulus would try to drive again. This time he succeeded, cutting the lead to a single basket again, but Daniel Cook of Bunn was left wide open behind the defense, and received the ball for the break away layup to set the final margin at 69-65.

Little was the game's top scorer with 32 points, while Paulus finished with 26 points and 11 assists.

The loss places CBA in action tomorrow at 12:40 PM EST against the loser of the Apex/Bishop O'Connell match up.
