McRoberts Shines Against 06's Wright

Heading into Tuesday's match up against Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy, the Carmel Greyhounds were focused on winning. However, the media billed it as the battle of the elite prep big men as Duke signee Josh McRoberts squared off with top five junior big man Brandan Wright, whom many expect to make the jump to the NBA next year.

The result was a victory for the future Blue Devil as Josh McRoberts connected on 10-of-17 from the field for a final stat line of 20 points, seven rebounds, six steals, three assists and three blocks to help the Greyhounds to a 58-43 triumph in the third annual Circle City Classic Challenge of Champions in Hinkle Fieldhouse.

The performance earned McRoberts game MVP honors, but that wasn't the story as far as he was concerned.

"I'm not caught up in individual match ups; I just want to help our team," McRoberts said in a post game interview with the Indianapolis Star. "We've got great chemistry, and the team concept is important to our success."

Meanwhile Brandan Wright, whom is expected to make the leap to the NBA Draft next June, finished with 23 points while grabbing four rebounds for Brentwood Academy (8-2), the top-ranked team in Tennessee from suburban Nashville.

After passing this test, the future Blue Devil must now prepare to face another big match up when he faces Luke Zeller on Thursday in the Hall of Fame Classic at New Castle.

On the season, McRoberts is averaging 20 points, 12.3 rebounds and he has blocked 24 shots in nine games
