Blue Devil Prospects Prep Updates

Duke bound big man Jamal Boykin continues to lead the Fairfax Lions through the consolation bracket at the annual Les Schwab Invitational in Hillsboro, Ore. On Wednesday the 6-foot-7, 225 pound big forward tallied 21 points, and four rebounds in 27 minutes of action as the Lions beat Benson 72-61.

After trailing 32-26 at intermission, Fairfax opened the third quarter by going inside to the future Blue Devil, who responded by hitting 9-of-16 shots for the game, while scoring eight points in the third quarter to turn a six point deficit into a 44-39 lead heading into the final period.

Echefu Helps Montrose to Blow Out Win

Power forward target Uche Echefu continued his tournament by helping Montrose Christian blast Beaverton, 71-31 on Wednesday in the Schwab Invitationl. The 6-foot-8 215 pound senior scored just seven points, but did grab nine rebounds in just 21 minutes of action.

Thomas Pushes St. Benedicts to Finals

In Florida at the Kingdom of the Sun event, junior big forward Lance Thomas overcame some early foul trouble that limited him to just a few minutes of action in the first half against Vanguard to post 10 points and nine rebounds as the Gray Bees of St. Benedicts High advanced to the finals of the event.

Future Duke shooting guard Martynas Pocius showed his scoring touch twice on Wednesday as Holderness advanced to the finals of the St. Sebastian Invitational event with a pair of victories. The first came at the expense of the event's host school, St. Sebastian when Pocius scored 16 points as Holderness won 76-60. Later, the 6-foot-4, Lithuanian born guard would hit for 20 points as his team advanced into the finals with a 20+ point victory.

In the consolation bracket of the Proviso West event in Chicago, Duke shooting guard prospect Jon Scheyer once again led Glenbrook North to a convincing win, as they defeated Leyden 59-47 on the strength of Scheyer's overall floor game.

The 6-foot-5 Scheyer finished with 28 points, six rebounds, and six assists as Glenbrook improves to 10-2 on the season.
