Louisiana RB Had a Blast, But Didn't Commit

After returning home from Duke and his official visit over the weekend, one of Louisiana's best running backs says he learned a lot and is now closer to his decision, but he's not quite there yet.

"I had a great time at Duke this weekend," says 5'11, 195lbs runner Patrick Jackson. "The coaches told me how much they want me to come there, and I felt like I fit in pretty well."

However, the West Saint John High standout says he's not in any rush to make his choice, and so he didn't offer head coach Ted Roof and his staff a commitment this weekend while on his trip.

"I am going to take all my visits before I make my choice. I want to go see LSU next weekend and then I'll look at it. Duke is going to be there though."

Patrick opened eyes in 2004 as he produced 2,090 rushing yards and 38 touchdowns in the regular season as a senior, which led to a number of programs showing interest as he continued to churn out the big numbers.

From there it was onto the official visit tour, which began with a trip to Tulane back on December 17th. Now, with his Duke trip behind him, the Louisiana prospect says he's got something else to measure his trip to Baton Rouge.

So what will he be looking for when he trips to the local power next weekend? And what will he compare it with at Duke?

"I just want to see what it's like. They are a bigger school, but size isn't important really. I want to go where I can play and contribute, and where I feel the most comfortable. That'll be where I end up."
