Redick Named ACC POW

Duke's J.J. Redick was named the ACC Co-Player of the Week on Monday after averaging 28.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals in two games against ACC opponents last week.

Redick led the Blue Devils in scoring in both contests, including a career-high 38-point effort in a 102-92 win over No. 5 Wake Forest.

In Sunday's 102-92 win over Wake Forest, J.J. Redick collected 38 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field and 14-of-15 shooting from the free throw stripe. The Roanoke, Va., native knocked down 6-of-10 three-point attempts to run his ACC leading total to 89 three-point field goals. Redick, who played the entire game for the seventh time this season, also had four rebounds, one assist and two steal against the Demon Deacons.

Redick paced the Blue Devils with 19 points, five assists and three steals in a loss to Virginia Tech earlier in the week. For the season, Redick is leading the ACC in scoring (23.0 ppg.) and three-point field goals made (3.87 pg.). The junior guard also ranks second in free throw percentage (.933) and fourth in three-point field goal percentage (.424).

In 13 ACC contests, Redick is averaging 24.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game, while shooting 57-of-133 (.429) from three-point distance and 81-of-87 (.931) from the free throw line. Redick and the rest of the Blue Devils return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 23 with a 7:00 p.m. road contest against Georgia Tech.

Virginia Tech's Coleman Collins averaged 16.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocked shots in a pair of ACC wins to share player of the week honors with Redick. In Thursday's 67-65 win over No. 8 Duke, Collins scored 14 points and recorded career-highs with 18 rebounds and five blocked shots. In Saturday's 71-58 win over Miami, Collins led the Hokies with 18 points and five rebounds while hitting on seven-of-eight from the floor.
