"The academics at Duke are second to none," said Rose. "They have a young staff and they are starting to come up. I like that they are getting more support for football and that I'd be able to come in and play as a freshman and not sit and wait."
The Blue Devils were his first scholarship offer during his sophomore year. Rose plans to attend summer camps at Alabama, Duke and Florida. "Florida is only two hours away and I already went to their Junior Day. I don't want it to be too big of a hassle for my parents to see me play, but location isn't going to be that big of a factor.
"I like the running game at Auburn. It's a great program and they've really become a big-time team.
"Oklahoma sends a lot of handwritten mail and my coaches say that I'll have an offer from them soon.
"I grew up following Texas and Notre Dame," said Rose. "They are both recruiting me and my coaches think that Notre Dame will offer, but I didn't like how they fired Tyrone Willingham.
"I'm gonna try to take at least three of my official visits before I commit," said Rose.
Rose benches 345 pounds, squats 505 and has a vertical jump of 23-inches. "I'm agile and have quick feet. I can stop the rush and get out well laterally. I'm really athletic and smart and can pick up on the tendencies of the defense," said Rose. "I want to work on staying low and improve my run blocking."
Reports a 3.3 GPA and a 920 SAT score.
