"No," said Fayson. "I am definitely a quarterback. All the schools that have offered me have offered me as a quarterback. Florida, Florida State, Miami and Georgia all said they want me as a quarterback. That's the position I want to play. Duke, Maryland, Iowa State, Kansas State, Houston, Central Florida and South Florida have offered me as well."
Fayson has already made a commitment and backed off that pledge. He told South Florida that he wanted to be a Bull back as a sophomore. Then he realized that his decision was made a little premature.
"I did commit to USF last year. Recruiting was new to me at that point. Don't get me wrong, I like South Florida. It's a place that is very close to home, they are in the Big East, I like the coaches, the system, everything. It was just too early for me to make a decision."
For now another in-state school leads for Fayson. And this school recently got a quarterback commitment from a prospect in Texas (Jevan Sneed) and they are also on one of the state's top over prospects (Tim Tebow) who happens to play the same position as Fayson.
"Florida is my leader. They are No. 1. They have told me they are taking two quarterbacks and that doesn't bother me at all. I love the competition. It's all about the competition. If you don't then why play? No one scares me.
"I really like the Florida coaching staff. They are so down to earth and have been truthful with me. I also like the offense, facilities, and the people in Gainesville.
"Miami was my favorite team growing up. I have always loved the ‘U'. Those coaches are so laid back and they coach with a different approach that I really like. They are all so calm and poised."
"Georgia plays big-time college football and I really like their coaching staff, especially coach Johnson.
"With Duke, it has to be about their academics first. Then it's about coach (Ted) Roof and coach (Glen) Spencer. They are on the way up too.
"With Maryland it's about coach (Ralph) Friedgen and their academics as well.
"Right now Florida is my leader and Miami, Georgia, Duke and Maryland would follow. I am really not sure when I will make my decision."
Fayson said he would like to camp at Florida and Georgia this summer and he also wants to visit Coral Gables and the University of Miami.
Fayson is in the middle of spring football. He is playing with a ruptured tendon in his finger.
Fayson has terrific athletic ability. That is his strongest attribute. He is at his best when things break down in the pocket and he has to make a play, usually with his legs. Fayson is extremely quick and tough in a confined area because of his outstanding speed and quickness. On the run he is deadly, especially in space. He also shows an accurate arm and throws a nice deep ball.
