Devils In Early With Georgia DT

Quency Patrick has several offers including an early grant opportunity from Duke.

Quency Patrick is an athletic Defensive Tackle prospect from Pacelli HS in Columbus, Georgia. The 6'3 and 265 pound Patrick recorded well above average numbers last year and is aiming for greatness this fall. Which schools have offered and who's on top for Patrick?

"So far Ole Miss, Indiana, Duke, Illinois, and Tulane have offered me a scholarship," said Quency Patrick. "My top two schools are Alabama and Ole Miss. The other two schools I like are Florida and Virginia Tech. They're both at medium interest."

Is location the reason Patrick likes these schools?

"Not really. I just like what Alabama and Ole Miss are all about. Where a school's located doesn't really matter. It's going to come down to which campus I like most."

Where will Patrick take his official visits?

"I plan to visit Florida, Alabama, and Ole Miss this fall. I'm still not sure where I'll go for the other two."

Patrick recorded 84 tackles and 11 sacks in '04. What are his goals for the '05 season?

"I'm not worried as much about sacks. This year I want to concentrate more on total tackles. The sacks will be there. My goal is to get 100 total tackles."

Patrick feels good about his team's chances this fall.

"Last year we made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs. We have a younger team this year but I think we're just as good as last year."

Patrick is also on the Pacelli Track team. His events aren't typical for an athlete his size.

"I run track during the spring. I do the Long Jump and Triple Jump. My best Long Jump is 20'9."

Patrick plays on both sides of the ball and will continue to do so next season. Will it be Alabama or Ole Miss at the end? Stay tuned to to find out.
