"Monday they sent me a text message to call them. I called and they offered," Wade reports. "Coach [Ralph] Friedgen watched my film over the weekend and liked what he saw. The quarterbacks coach, [Charlie] Taaffe, liked me also. They said that I throw well and run well. And they liked my grades, too."
Wade carries a 4.65 GPA and ranks in the top 5% of his high school class. He scored a 1220 on the SAT last June at the end of his sophomore year.
This is the second offer for the 6'2" Greer (S.C.) Riverside High School slinger. His first offer came from conference foe Duke. We expect more offers to come for this dual-threat quarterback, who has an arm and scrambling ability to give defenses headaches.
Wade's next camp destination will take him Sunday to Clemson, where his father was a defensive end on the Tigers' 1981 national championship team.
