Florida QB Continues to Rake In Offers

Herb Bynes saw his phone never stop ringing last month. College coaches from all over were trying to begin a relationship with the talented quarterback prospect.

There's good reason. At 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, Bynes has a prototypical frame for a quarterback and he was blessed with a big time arm. He put it on display during his team's spring game against Atlantic.

"I threw for over 200 yards and rushed for about 60 more," Bynes said. "I was just out there flinging it around like I do best."

The talented quarterback, whose brother (Josh) will be one of the state's top defensive end prospects in 2006, spent last weekend at the University of Miami summer camp.

"I went for the last two days and really thought I had a good camp," he said. "There was some good competition and I was able to work with the coaches and learn some new things. Everyone was there to prove a point, including myself. I had fun and enjoyed it."

Bynes, who plans on attending FSU's camp next month, was invited to the camp by the UM coaches who called him during the May evaluation period. However, the Canes haven't offered yet.

"I just got two new offers in from FIU and Louisville," he said. "I also have them from North Carolina, Kansas, Duke, Wisconsin, Auburn, OLe Miss, and UCF. I couldn't say who my top five would be right now because I don't know for sure who's all gonna offer yet."
