Rose Getting His Recrutiing Organized

Daron Rose, perhaps the top recruit on the Duke recruiting board in 2006, is moving forward with his recruiting process. The big Florida offensive lineman says he's got 11 schools working hard to gain his signature, with no team working harder than the Blue Devils.

Tampa (Fla.) offensive lineman Daron Rose no longer has a top five. Call it a top 11.

"I should have an established top five by September," said Rose, from Jefferson SR High School.

"I've narrowed the list down to Florida, Michigan, USC, Duke, Oklahoma, Alabama, South Carolina, South Florida, Maryland, Notre Dame and Florida State. They've all offered me," he said.

"Academics come first for me and then my level of comfort with a coaching staff and then the atmosphere around the campus. All of these programs are even and I'd like to take at least three or four official visits before I make my decision sometime in January.

"I've been out to Florida, Alabama and South Florida for unofficial visits already, and I plan to get out to Florida State, South Carolina, Duke and Notre Dame for more unofficial visits this summer," he said.

"I won't go to any camps this summer," he said. "Location is not a factor for me, I'm just looking for the school that feels the most comfortable. "Florida and Duke are recruiting me the hardest right now. I'm on a constant level of communication with the coaches there everyday. They also send me text messages and handwritten letters every day," he said. 3.3 GPA/920 SAT--September retest
