NBA Camp: Day Two (2nd Session)

RICHMOND, Va. -- It wasn't the most spirited session of the NBA Camp and overall the intensity was down. However, Gary Johnson played his game and proved to be one of the evening's top performers.

2006 CHECKLIST

Dwayne Collins, PF: When he's aggressive, as he was on Thursday night, you can rely on him for a few dunks, a handful of blocks and athletic, strong presence in the paint. In a game that for the most part lacked energy, Collins was played like he was running downhill.

Alex Stepheson, PF: "This was probably my best game," Stepheson said afterwards. We couldn't agree more. A series of three one-handed throw downs was enough to warrant mention in this column. Those are the kinds of things recruiters want to see out of him and when he dropped the post hook you knew he was feeling it.

K'Len Morris, SG: Knowing he had a matchup he needed to take advantage of, Morris went after it and drilled his man. The future Wolverine did it from the outside and on the drive.

2007 CHECKLIST

Gary Johnson, PF: He's turning into one of the most reliable players in his class. It seems like his effort is always at a max level and the results are much of the same. On Thursday night his opponent was 2006 center Ray Hall and Johnson went right after him. The junior drove Hall to the blocks and went over and through him for points. He's a tremendous defensive rebounder and a hustling shot blocker. Excellent overall effort.
