Wright Plans Four Fall Visits

Brandan Wright has known all throughout the recruiting process that he would take fall official visits to Duke, North Carolina and Kentucky.

On Thursday afternoon at the Nike Peach Jam Tournament, the 6-9 All-American candidate from Brentwood Academy in Tennessee added a fourth program to that visit list -- Louisville.

"I think I will also be taking a visit to Louisville," he said. "I haven't even told Coach Pitino yet, so I am sure he's going to be excited when he hears about that."

Wright continues to list a top three of Duke, UNC and Kentucky and a second tier group of Louisville, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Kansas and Vanderbilt. But with the official visits expected to play a large role in Wright's decision, a Louisville trip could certainly be a shot in the arm to the Cardinals' chances.

"I am looking for something that sticks out from the rest, something that catches my eye," Wright explained. "Something that says to me that I want to be here for the next one, two, three or four years."

Wright isn't in a hurry to make a decision. Right now, he's worried about getting through the hectic July evaluation period and letting the dust settle from there.

"I won't do anything this summer," he said. "I need some time away from the basketball court to think about stuff."

Wright could potentially take some unofficial visits in August to programs within a close driving distance of his Tennessee home. He specifically cited Louisville, Kentucky and Georgia Tech as examples, but made no guarantees of actual trips.

He added that he would like to spread out his official visits in the fall to avoid what he called "burn out."

"I think that Carolina, Duke and Kentucky have been there from the beginning," Wright said. "They were showing interest at the end of my freshman year or sophomore year -- they've shown interest and love from the beginning."

"I am real close to all of the staffs," he continued. "They send me mail, they text message me and call me -- that's their job, to develop a close relationship with the players that they recruit.

Specifically, Wright said he has become close with North Carolina Asst. Coach Steve Robinson, Kentucky Asst. Coach Reggie Hansen and Duke Asst. Coach Steve Wojciechowski.
