With the fall signing period scheduled to kick off on Wednesday and last for a week, the Blue Devils will host New Jersey power forward Lance Thomas this weekend according to sources close the situation.
, ranked as the No. 19 overall prospect in America by Scout.com's Dave Telep, will make his official visit to the Durham campus. It will be the fourth visit of an allotted five after Thomas visited Florida last weekend, Rutgers on October 28th, and Arizona in mid-September. A final visit is scheduled for November 18th to Wake Forest.
Tabbed as a five star prospect, Thomas has never been anxious to set a time limit on choosing a program; only saying a decision could come during the fall. This led many analysts and recruiting experts to speculate that the St. Benedict's standout's commitment wouldn't come until the Spring signing period.
For a fall decision to happen for the 6-foot-8, 215 pounder it would have to come before November 16th.
Thomas will arrive at Duke on Friday and stay until early Sunday morning. Current Blue Devil commit Gerald Henderson is expected to make an unofficial visit during the weekend as well.
The pair shared MVP honors at the Eddie Griffin Challenge in late October as Thomas scored 19 points while grabbing five rebounds for the New Jersey team. Henderson scored a game high 24 for the Philadelphia team which featured North Carolina commit Wayne Ellington.
