Last season the Blue Devils accepted the commitment of 6-foot-4, 245 pound Tennessee defensive end Ayanga Okpokowuruk, rated a four star defensive end by A year later it's his younger brother Ifreke, who has decided to call Duke his home.

"Yes, I can confirm that Ifreke Okpokowuruk will be a Blue Devil" said a source familiar with the Blue Devils recruiting. "He committed to Duke on Sunday."

Unfortunately for his older brother, Ayanga, injuries derailed what many expected to be a strong freshman campaign early in fall practice. The silver lining was that the elder Okpokowuruk is able to rehab and use a redshirt season to ensure he'll be ready to go in 2006. Off the field, it'll give the brothers another year at Duke together.

"I think that was very important for the family in this decision, they are a very tight knit group."

Playing as a defensive tackle for the McCallie School in Chattanooga, the 6-foot-1, 265 pound Ifreke has established himself as a solid D-1 prospect. However he didn't get a lot of interest as many long ago considered him a near lock to follow his brother's lead to Duke.
