Blue Devils Strong For Egboh

One of the most important recruits remaining on the big board inside the Yoh Center is Texas lineman Patrick Egboh. Recently the big Texan checked in with Scout.com to update his recruitment. How do the Blue Devils sit with Patrick? Check out the Premium ticket.

Defensive end Patrick Egboh (6-5, 230, 4.7) from Mesquite North Texas (Tex.) is the brother of Stanford defensive end, Pannel Egboh. "He loves it there," Egboh said. "He says the weather in California is great. I like the academics a lot and that they are in the Pac-10 and play big-time football."

Despite the family connections, Egboh favors Duke slightly over Stanford, Tulane and Mississippi State. The Blue Devils and the Green Wave have already offered and he'll be visiting Duke officially on December 8. "I love the academics at Duke. I want to go pre-med and they have a great medical school there. Duke is known for its prestige. Also the football team is getting better every year."

Egboh says his family will be helping him make a decision and says that they favor Duke and Stanford. "I haven't been to many of these schools yet and that's why I want to take my official visits. I'll probably be visiting Tulane in January," Egboh said. "I like the football program at Tulane and that they are working hard to improve. I'm impressed with how they handled the hurricane."

Egboh finished his senior season with 85 tackles and eight sacks for a team that finished 3-7. "I think I have good speed and am a great pass rusher. I have good hands and know what to do," Egboh said. "I need to improve my strength (benches 260), especially my upper body. I want to bulk up."

He squats 350 and has a vertical jump of 34-inches.

He reports a 3.7 GPA and a 1610 SAT score.
