A Great Day For Wake Recruiting

Wake Forest got a nice recruiting coup, getting Chris Paul to commit, according to both Dave Telep and Ben Sherman.  Both links require subscription. Then to follow that up, they got another recruit later in the day.

Todd Hendley, a power foward from NC, also has committed. Dave Telep has more details for the subscribers.

For UNC, who was also recruing Paul, it makes a difficult situation a bit tougher.  After Adam Boone left, UNC's point guard depth vanished.  Raymond Felton may be around for only a year, depending on how good he turns out to be.  Having offered five scholarships already, and having promised one the following year to walk-on David Noel, the Heels have two scholarships left under the 5/8 rule.  People we've talked to don't expect much out of incoming big men Damion Grant and Byron Sanders.  UNC really cannot afford to get caught short if Felton leaves, so that makes a point guard an imperative.  Paul would have wrapped that up, then they could have shopped for a big man.  But as of now, the search goes on.
