Ohio OL Gets A Duke Offer

Cory Palmer is an impressive offensive line prospect from Wooster, Ohio. Checking in at 6-foot-6, 300-pounds, he is looking to pursue a college degree and some playing time for a division one program.

Cory Palmer is not only an overachiever on the field; he excels in the classroom as well. Currently he reports a 3.9 GPA and a 27 ACT. Earlier this summer he was being recruited by a host of Ivy League programs, but he has recently seen an increase of interest from division one programs.

"Our season did not go as good as we would have wanted it to go. We were (6-4)," Palmer said. "I made the move to center and I feel I did pretty well."

"I have been talking to a few colleges. I have an offer from Duke. It is my only offer right now. It made me feel awesome to get that first offer. It kind of takes the pressure off of you, when you get it."

Palmer is receiving some heavy interest from the MAC schools in his area, but he may see Duke as the better option at this point. A summer visit to see the school for a camp session may have pinned the Blue Devils to the top of Palmer's list.

"Right now they are in the driver's seat. It is my only offer, and I love that school. I really enjoyed it when I went down there. The campus, the facilities, and the coaching staff were all big pluses."
