Oglesby Ready To Put Process Behind Him

With the holiday season in full force it's natural for many people throughout the country to begin thinking about making some New Year's resolutions. For one top Texas football prospect, one of his goals is to have the recruiting process behind him by the time the big ball drops in Times Square.

"Right now I'm thinking I'll have a decision before year end," says 6-foot-5, 230 pound Grace Prep Academy standout defensive end Wesley Oglesby. "I've really started thinking about things more and more over the last few days and I think I'm going to be able to get this done soon."

After taking official visits to Baylor, Oklahoma State, and Duke, Oglesby says he has an idea what he is looking for in a school, and a football program.

"It's a combination of things. I want to be somewhere that the players believe in the system, the coaches are top notch, and the academic environment is strong. Finding the right blend of those factors will be what ends up making one school stand out."

After visiting Duke over the weekend of December 3rd, Oglesby reported the Blue Devils had earned favorable marks in his mind.

"I loved the people up there," Oglesby told Allen Wallace. "It's a real close family atmosphere and I like how upbeat they are about next year. They have a couple key injuries this season and didn't do very well, but they are working hard to be recognized in football."

Oglesby is rated as the number 59 defensive end in the country according to Scout.com. He is considered a three star prospect.

During his final year suiting up for Grace Prep he recorded 76 tackles, 28 for loss, 11 sacks, two fumbles caused and two recovered for touchdowns.
