Rated as a three star prospect and the No. 59 defensive end in the nation according to Scout.com, Oglesby may be able to challenge for early time next season as a true freshman.
"That's something we've talked about. I need to add some weight and really work in the weight room for that to happen though. When I get there this summer I'm going to work with that as my main goal."
The talented Texas prospect chose Duke over offers from Baylor, Stanford, Texas Christian, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, and Kansas. He visited the Blue Devils most recently during the December 2nd recruiting weekend.
"After that visit I thought I knew that Duke was the best place for me, but I wanted to sit down with my parents and think it over. Over Christmas I think it just solidified in my mind. Duke just had the best combination of things and I feel the most comfortable there."
Now that he's officially a Blue Devil, can we expect him to continue looking towards other recruiting visits or entertaining other coaching staffs' efforts to sway him?
"Not at all. I've gone through the process. I'm going to Duke."
When he gets to Durham, look for Oglesby to have a future as a top notch defensive end in the ACC. At 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, he's been clocked with a 4.7 forty time and is very comfortable putting heat on the quarterback.
"I've been playing defensive end since I was in the fourth grade, so I'm really comfortable with the position. Everything just comes naturally to me as a DE and I'm pretty fast at it as well. I want to work on getting stronger and putting on some more weight."
As a senior for Grace Prep Academy, Oglesby recorded 76 tackles, 28 for loss, 11 sacks, two fumbles caused and two recovered for touchdowns.
