Bondesson Föröva till Hertigen

Reading the above headline may make several Blue Devil fans do a double take. However, for at least two new Duke commits, it's old hat. Last week head coach Ted Roof secured a commitment from one international prospect in the form of Marcus Lind. Now, Roof and his staff have landed a second international lineman.

Pontus Bondesson, a 6-foot-6, 275 pound OL/DL prospect hailing from Sweden verbally committed to Roof and the Blue Devils early Sunday morning accoring to sources close to the situation.

After seeing countryman Marcus Lind choose the Blue Devils over several other high major programs, Bondesson followed suit after sitting down with Roof and his assistants for a late breakfast today.

The 19 year old was rumored to be a potential grayshirt candidate as the Blue Devils are quickly approaching the scholarship limit of 25 in the class of 2006, however sources indicate that Bondesson will enroll in summer school, which will make him the seventh potential offensive lineman in the class of 2006.

"He could challenge for time on the field as a true freshman," a source reported. "It's going to come down to his ability to adjust to a number of things. He's going to be in a new country and a different situation."
