What are NBA types thinking about the Duke players in the draft? Glad you asked.
Carlos Boozer is the one who has the most to worry about, according to our sources. He might go as high as 20th (Toronto owns that pick), but with so many power forwards in the NBA, and many a good bit bigger than Carlos, he could be in trouble. On the plus side for Carlos, his workouts have reportedly gone well. If he can show he can hit an outside shot, his odds will get better. Since he shot a lot from outside in high school, he knows he can do it, and Carlos does have excellent fundamentals. He could slip to the second round, though, according to our source.
Our source thinks the Dunleavys may have serious concerns about Golden State.
There is also some talk in NBA circles that the Bulls could pass on Jason Williams (Jay will take some getting used to) in order to position themselves in the LeBron sweepstakes.
Those two factors combined could really throw a lot of uncertainty into Mike Dunleavy's plans, in our opinion, though he hasn't shared anything with us, needless to say.
In a small bit of other news, Chris Wilcox is making a big impression.
