"I got offers from North Carolina and Duke this weekend. I went on a junior day visit to Duke and I got to go in Coach Roof's office and that's when he offered me a scholarship to Duke. As for UNC, last week on Thursday night I was talking to coach Bunting and they said they were going to offer me then. I met them on Sunday and that's when I got the official offer from them," Bailey Woods said.
The two North Carolina schools weren't his only visits of the weekend. Woods also stopped in at nearby Georgia.
"I went to Georgia's junior day on Saturday. The coaches talked to us a good bit about the campus and the dorms and the football facilities. They just talked to us about the program and that went well. I also got to speak to my recruiting coach, Coach Bobo."
Woods denies a clear leader but has a quite a few schools on his radar.
"Right now I don't really have any favorites but I like the schools who've offered me. I also like Georgia, Vanderbilt, Clemson and Ole Miss."
Woods will stay home this weekend to attend Georgia Tech's big junior day festivities.
"I'll be at Georgia Tech this weekend for junior day. I'm looking forward to meeting all those coaches. The only ones I know right now are Coach Gailey and Coach Nix. I want to meet my position coach and hear about the new offense."
Bailey is keeping in shape this off-season by running track for Walton.
"I'm on the track team and our workouts are mandatory so I'm doing all of that and staying in shape. I run the 100m, the 400m and the hurdles. I also throw shot and discuss."
Despite being over 220lbs, Woods is a good enough athlete to run the sprint events for his high school team.
"My best 100m time was an 11.49 and my best 4x100 split was an 11.1"
Woods is one to watch in the state of Georgia…
