Plenty of Junior Days for Vereen

In an attempt to learn as much about his interested schools, Darryl Vereen will spend the next month or so traveling to as many junior days as humanly possible.

"I'm pretty much trying to go to all of them," said Vereen. "I missed Virginia and that's one that I wanted to go to. I wanted to go to [N.C.] State [Saturday], but I had to go back [home]. I went to Wake Forest last week. So I'm trying to go to a lot of them."

Vereen, a 6-foot-2 205-pound athlete from Huntersville (N.C.) North Mecklenburg, owns a Duke scholarship offer, while also fielding interest from N.C. State, Wake Forest, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.

Still in the investigating stages of his recruitment, Vereen is far from establishing a list of favorites.

"There aren't really any schools I like more than the others, really," said Vereen. "I like them all about the same."

According to Vereen, most schools are recruiting him and his 4.4-forty speed for tailback, but he is getting looks at defensive back.

A three-year started at tailback for North Mecklenburg, Vereen collected over 1,200 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior despite missing three games with a broken hand.
