Duke Among Favorites For Florida WR

Evangel Christian athlete Art Evans was in Tuscaloosa for Alabama's Junior Day. The two-way star talks about his time at the Capstone.

"I liked it up there a lot," said Art Evans from Lakeland, (Fla.). "It was a lot different from high school. I really liked their work ethic. It's something I am going to take back with me to my high school."

"I really liked the campus and how everything was close together. It seemed like everything was in a big circle. They have a ton of fans as well."

The 6-1, 175-pound athlete spent time with his recruiting coach Chris Ball. Coach Ball was instrumental in the signing of his former teammate, Chris Rogers, two years ago.

"Coach Ball was straight up front with me about everything," Evans said. "That was the best thing about him. He is not going to lead you on or anything. He is honest. He was a hands-on type coach on the practice field, and he was very hyped the whole time. That is the type of coach that you need."

Evans enjoyed spending time with Rogers over the weekend. His former teammate has been receiving a lot of reps this spring.

"It was a lot of fun to hang out with Chris this weekend," Evans said. "I haven't seen him in a long time. It was great to watch him out there practicing. I look up to him a lot."

When asked if he had a top list of schools Evans replied, "Alabama is still my overall favorite. I like Duke a lot as well. I have talked to their coach, and I like what they have to offer. Miami and Rutgers have picked up their recruitment with me. Miami has been calling my coach and asking about me. They wanted me to come to their Junior Day this weekend, but I was set on going to Alabama."

Evans will attend the Scout.com All-American Combine in Boca Raton May 13.

Evans recorded 62 receptions for 1,329 yards with 16 touchdowns and intercepted 11 passes on defense scoring two touchdowns during his junior campaign. He returned eight punts for
