Devils In Early with MD Receiver

The momentum from a remarkable junior season has spilled over to Pat Lazear's recruitment with the blue chipper landing his quite a few scholarship offers.

"I have four [offers] now," said Lazear. "Maryland, West Virginia, Oklahoma, and Duke [have offered]."

Lazear, a 6-foot-1 215-pound linebacker from Bethesda (Md.) Whitman, is hoping to have a decision before his senior football season begins to avoid distraction. However, he is nowhere near prepared to name favorites.

"Not as of now [I don't have any favorites]," said Lazear. "I want to commit by August, so hopefully I'll narrow it down soon."

To help establish a list of favorites Lazear will spend the upcoming months traveling to the campuses of schools he's interested in.

"I'm going to visit Ohio State, Florida, and Alabama during spring break," said Lazear. "I'm also going to visit N.C. State in a few weeks."

Lazear has already unofficially visited Maryland and West Virginia for junior days.

During his junior season Lazear was named All-Conference Player-of-the-Year, All-County Player-of-the-Year, while also being named to the All-Met and All-State teams after accumulating 124 tackles, five forced fumbles, eight sacks, and two interceptions.
