"Last year I rushed for 2,434 yards and 23 touchdowns in 10 games. I could have run for more, but I missed three games. I was named All-State, All-Conference, and I was the Cuyahoga County Offensive Player of the Year," Edmonds reported.
"I try to pattern my game after Barry Sanders. I consider myself a fast paced hard runner. I have good power and vision, and I try to read my blocks to get the extra yards."
Standing at 5-foot-8, has not kept schools from taking note of Edmonds, but he knows that he must give that much more in the weight room, the classroom, and on the field to get the exposure he deserves.
"I feel that my height gives me an advantage, but I also know that I need to work that much harder to get where I want to be. I know that there are going to be some schools who overlook me because of my height, but I try to prove them all wrong when I play."
"Miami (OH) and Akron have offered. Miami was the first school to offer me a scholarship, and that definitely took a lot of weight off my shoulders. It was very exciting to know that I would have the opportunity to play college ball."
Edmonds, who reports a 4.37 40-yard dash time, is keeping in close contact with a number of other programs.
"I am also interested in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio State, Iowa, and Illinois," Edmonds explained.
"All things being equal I would have Illinois and Iowa at the top of my list. I like Ohio State and Michigan, but right now it would probably be those two."
Edmonds has been invited to numerous junior day events, but so far, he has only been able to attend one.
"I have been invited to junior days by almost everyone who is recruiting me. I have been invited out to Duke, North Carolina, Illinois, Ohio State, and Michigan. The only trip I made it to was the junior day at Michigan," Edmonds said.
"The Michigan visit was a lot of fun. I walked around and saw the campus. They are getting some new facilities and everything looked very nice. They are evaluating me, and I should know really soon if they are going to be offering or not."
Edmonds will be getting the chance to see plenty of schools this year on the camp circuit, as he will be joining up with the crew from Glenville High for the bus tour.
"I am going with Coach (Ted) Ginn again for the camp tour. I also went last year. We will be hitting a ton of camps all over the country. I know we will be going to schools like Illinois, Iowa, and Ohio State again for sure," Edmonds said of his camp schedule.
