LB Wants Offer In Writing

Korey Williams says the Blue Devils have offered, but it doesn't count just yet...

Like many others, Korey Williams of Edna Karr High in New Orleans, was uprooted by hurricane Katrina. After playing six games at Sachse in Garland, Texas as a junior, Williams is back at Karr and ready to break out.

"The only written scholarship offer I have right now is from Baylor," Williams said. "Duke verbally offered me, but I haven't seen it in writing yet so I don't count it. I have been talking to a lot of coaches through text messaging and stuff and there are a lot of schools interested. I just started mailing out highlight tapes to schools so hopefully some more offers will come in."

The 6-foot-1.5, 220-pound Williams may only have one written offer, but interest is coming in from all over.

"I went to the LSU junior day, but we had to leave early and didn't get to talk with coach Miles," Williams said. "I left my tape with one of the assistants though. I talk to coach Porter at LSU, Frank Wilson at Ole MIss and coach Deloach from UCLA through text a lot."

In just six games at Sachse Williams racked up 80 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, six sacks and caused six fumbles.

"Right now LSU, Tennessee, Oklahoma, UCLA, Ole Miss and Baylor are my favorites," Williams said. "Oklahoma has been talking to my coach a lot and I think they may offer soon, they just want to see my highlights."
