Big DE "Excited" By Duke Offer

With a limited number of scholarships available in the class of 2007, the Blue Devils will be very selective at certain positions. One being along the defensive line, where the the best depth on the roster resides. One top prospect to gain an offer hails from Alabama and has an impressive array of written offers already.

Mountain Brook defensive end Drew Traylor has received several scholarship offers this spring, and he added another one Tuesday afternoon.

"Duke offered me yesterday," said Drew Traylor from Birmingham, (Ala.). "It was pretty exciting to receive an offer from them. They are making a turn towards the better. They have had good recruiting classes the past two years."

"I feel like Louisville, N.C. State and Georgia Tech are showing a lot of interest in me. They may be close to offering. I am taking an unofficial visit to Georgia Tech Friday."

Traylor holds offers from Army, Clemson, Duke, Kentucky, Purdue, South Carolina and Vanderbilt.

When asked to name favorites Traylor replied, "I really don't know too much about any of these schools in order to name any favorites. I plan to visit a whole bunch of schools this summer to get a better understanding of each program."

The Spartans defeated a very talented Parker team last week in their annual spring game.

"We beat Parker 21-6," Traylor said. "The defense played really good. The offense struggled a little but, they are young. I felt like overall I did ok. I didn't see much action come to my side. I know I still have a lot to work on this summer."
