Jacobi Fenner has seen his stock begun to rise in a big way since the Scout.com combine at Duke

Hampton, Va., defensive back/wide receiver Jacobi Fenner is looking to his senior season to prove himself further to college coaches. The 5-foot-8, 175-pound product of Hampton High School is yet to receive a written scholarship offer but he is getting some interest from some local schools. "I am hearing from Virginia Tech, Virginia, North Carolina, and Duke," Fenner said.

Fenner holds no written offers but he has two clear favorites at this point. "My favorites right now are Virginia Tech and Virginia," Fenner said. "I like Virginia Tech because of the system that they run and the coaches. The coaches really help you a lot and take the time to teach fundamentals. I went to their spring game and I could see that they really take the time with the players."

"Virginia is my other favorite because their coaches really give you a lot of help as well. They also are very concerned about school work first and they make sure that you have your academics in order and everything," Fenner said.

Fenner doesn't have any summer plans at this point but he did make some camps this spring. "I went to the Scout.com combine at Duke and another combine at State College, PA," Fenner said.

Fenner is being recruited by most schools as a defensive back but one school is looking at him as a wide receiver.

"I am being recruited as a defensive back by all the schools but North Carolina is interested in me as a wide receiver as well," Fenner said. "I have no preference what position I play. Any position is fine with me. I believe I am talented enough to play either.
