2008's Felker Draws Early Contact

QB Stephen Felker of Starkville Academy has caught the eye of the Duke coaching staff

Quarterback Stephen Felker of Starkville Academy has already begun to receive letters from colleges around the country. While Stephen is not sure at this point if he will line up under center at the next level, he is confident he can help a program win football games.

"I am getting letters from Stanford, Colorado, Army, Marshall, Duke, Michigan State and Mississippi State," said Felker. "I don't know what position I would play in college, maybe safety. Quarterback is all I have ever played, so I am not really sure."

Being the son of a former Mississippi State player, it is only natural Felker would have the Bulldogs near the top of his list.

"I am interested in Mississippi State for sure," said Stephen. "I guess really somewhere around here would be best for me."

When asked for a self-evaluation Stephen said, "I enjoy running the ball. I like throwing the ball. I wish we threw more. Next year we are returning all of our offensive line except for our center, so we should be good there. Last year we had a bunch of injuries. Hopefully we won't have to deal with that as much this year."

Stay with Scout as we follow Stephen all the way to signing day 2008.
