Bosco FB Has Duke In Top Four

Schools on many different levels have been showing consistent interest in Ramsey, N.J., native Guy Germinario so far in recruiting and this week proved to be a big one in terms of visitors. Dozens of schools have been flocking to North Jersey to meet with many members of the Ironmen football team.

Guy Germinario is hearing from a wide variety of programs in terms of success and level of play lately and the 5-foot-10, 215-pound fullback is just taking everything in stride. With no offers currently in hand, the Don Bosco Prep back is simply learning about which schools are interested in him and trying to zero in on the serious suitors.

"I get a ton of mail right now, but it's obviously hard to decipher which schools are serious and which are just sending mail," Germinario said. "We've also had a lot of visitors come through the school recently like Boston College and Rutgers today and others like Pennsylvania, Penn State, Columbia, Cincinnati, Iowa, North Carolina State and Akron lately. There have been more then that, but frankly I can't remember them all off the top of my head."

"The main schools I'm looking at right now are Rutgers, Penn, Columbia and Duke although it's not like I'm closing my recruiting," Germinario explained. "I was able to get down to Rutgers for their spring game and had a lot of fun while I was there. They had a record crowd and while I had been there a few times before it was nice to actually see the facilities for the first time which were impressive. The atmosphere there was awesome and I think a lot of the top Jersey kids will start to stay in Jersey and help Rutgers continue to get great recruiting classes down the line. They requested my film and invited me to camp, so I'll be there."

Speaking of camps, Germinario already has a summer itinerary for which schools he'll be making stops at. The running back plans to visit Boston College, Rutgers, Duke, Temple, Delaware, New Hampshire and Columbia for camps and also says that he is getting a lot of interest from the Ivy League programs.

As a junior, Germinario carried the ball 95 times for 918 yards and 23 touchdowns and also played linebacker, helping Don Bosco Prep to an eventual state championship.
