Bama Lineman Will Camp at Duke

ScoutSouth.com talked with Eric Jones, offensive lineman from Hoover-Spain Park, (Ala.), as he shared the news of the first scholarship offer and his recruitment.

"Louisiana Tech offered me a scholarship Monday," Eric Jones stated. "I have been talking to coach [Frank] Scelfo. He's the recruiting coach for this area. They came to practice and then offered me shortly afterward."

"It's exciting to have my first offer, and it lifts a little bit of a burden off me knowing I have a place to play college football. Hopefully, I'll start to get more offers with all the coaches that have been to our spring practices."

"We have a lot of coaches coming to our practices to watch William Green. I don't know how many of them are looking at me while they're there, but I hope to catch their attention at practice."

"UCLA is showing me a lot of interest right now. I hope they're close to offering me. I have been hearing from Michigan since they came to one of our spring practices. They have been on me pretty hard for the past week."

"I've also talk to coach Mallory at Louisville pretty often. He stays in touch with me. UAB has been talking to me a lot here lately too."

Other coaches at Spain Park practice, "LSU, coach Saban [Alabama], Tennessee, Mississippi State, Kentucky, Ole Miss and a lot of others that I can't remember," Jones explained.

Eric Jones has some plans for the summer, but he hasn't finalized his list of camps, combines and unofficial visits.

"I'm going to camps at Duke, Wake Forest, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Auburn and Louisville. I'm pretty sure of those camps right now. I'm just trying to see which teams are most interested in me, and then I'll decide on a couple other camps," he said.

"I'm also looking forward to attending the Scout.com All-American Combine in Atlanta May 26."
