After the big four of Texas, California, Georgia, and Florida, the talent level in Ohio usually produces high numbers of Division I talent. By earning the commitment of TE Kenny Anunike, the Blue Devils have landed one of the best in the state according to Scout.com's state rankings.
After he committed to Duke
on May 23rd, Kenny Anunike
had many followers of the Blue Devil program wondering "who's that?". Since that time the 6-foot-5, 220lbs prospect with a 4.68 forty time, showed well enough at Duke's one day camp to draw big time reviews and has picked up additional offers to schools such as Indiana, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Miami (Ohio), Air Force, and Toledo.
While at camp Anunike surprised onlookers by working out with the wide receivers and showcasing a very soft set of hands and surprising athleticism for a such a big prospect.
"I had a chance to work out with Coach Montgomery, whom I like a lot. I showed what I could do a little bit and then went to Coach Pearman to work with the other tight ends. Overall it was a great camp."
Preliminary national rankings have Anunike as a two star prospect without the review of his film - which is expected in the next week.
