Mid-Atlantic RB Still Has Duke Offer

Newark, Del., running back Dallas Brown picked up his second written scholarship offer from Towson recently and also camped at two local schools over the past month. He has been in contact with a number of programs over the summer that want to see senior film and has spent much time working on his game.

After rushing for 2031 yards and 17 touchdowns last season, most would think that Dallas Brown could become complacent, however the 5-foot-10.5, 193-pound running back has continued to work hard this summer to improve his game, understanding that averaging 203 yards per game at the high school level does not earn you scholarships. Currently Brown holds two offers from Towson and Duke, but others are in contact.

"Virginia, North Carolina State, Boston College and Connecticut have all been in constant contact and want to watch the first two games of my senior year to see how much improvement I have had over the summer, which I can tell you right now has been a lot in my opinion," Brown explained. "Towson also offered and they are a good Division I-AA program that I have seen a few times and plan on visiting. Other then that, I camped at Temple and Rutgers and got positive feedback."

"There was a lot of talent at Rutgers, especially at running back and I think I did really well there," Brown said. "The coaching staff said they really like my feet and hands and told me that the way I catch the ball out of the backfield is great. They told me that they are about to offer another running back as they missed on a few of their targets and that their next offer would most likely be mine at the position. I like everything about Rutgers, so I would be real excited to get an offer from them."

"I went down to Temple and took care of business there," Brown stated. "Coach Paul Williams told me at the end of camp that I am next in line for an offer and could pick one up soon. I used to live two blocks from campus in North Philly, so it was like a homecoming for me going to camp down there."

Brown was named first-team All-Conference as a junior at Christiana High School.
