Keystone Wideout Still Looking Around

Julian Harrell is one of the top wide receiver prospects in the state of Pennsylvania and has the offers to prove it with five programs already having stepped up to the table. At this point many more seem like they could be ready to pounce and a productive senior year could lead to many more opportunities for the Harrisburg, Pa., standout.

Julian Harrell caught 50 passes for 900 yards and five touchdowns as a junior for Bishop McDevitt High School and the 6-foot-3, 200-pound wide receiver will look to build upon those numbers as a senior to draw more schools into offering him. At this point his offer sheet is comprised of Michigan State, Buffalo, Akron, Miami(OH) and Duke, however programs like Pittsburgh, Boston College, Maryland, Illinois, Virginia and West Virginia are also hot on his trail.

"Almost every school is recruiting me to play wide receiver, but Pittsburgh has said that they like me at safety better," Harrell explained. "They have been recruiting me pretty heavily lately and have kept in touch after I camped there this summer. The coaching staff there is really, really nice and seems to be extremely close with all of the players which I definitely liked. They also have top-notch facilities."

"Michigan State and Duke are two other schools that have offered, but I have not gotten the chance to see them in person yet," Harrell said. "Plans to visit East Lansing fell through this summer, so I will take an official there this season because I do like the coaches that I have spoken to. Duke brings excellent academics to the table and I would like to go far away from home for college, so I am definitely interested in them."

"Other then that schools like Maryland, Illinois, Virginia and West Virginia have been showing me a lot of interest," Harrell mentioned. "Boston College told me that they were going to offer me had I come to their camp this summer, but since they only offer after seeing someone in person I will need to visit this year to get that offer, which I plan to do. There are also some others sending mail, but those are the ones I know off the top of my head right now."

Harrell is in the process of setting up official visits now and has put no time frame on when he would like to have a decision ready.
