Fields: "I Wouldn't Count Duke Out"

In August, Frankfort (Ky.) High defensive back E.J. Fields said that Kentucky and Wisconsin were at the top of his wish list. With the Badgers and Wildcats both off to fast starts, has Fields been able to name a leader? Are there more schools now in the mix? Look inside for those answers and more.

"It's been a crazy year to say the least," E.J. Fields told Badger Nation. "Wisconsin and Kentucky are still at the top of my list. Coach (Kerry) Cooks from Wisconsin calls me on a regular basis and I'm positive that I'll take one of my official visits to Wisconsin.

"Kentucky is having one of the best seasons that they've had in years. They're creating a big buzz in the state and it's hard not to look at them.

"I'm not close to making a decision. We're on a break right now from school so I'm trying to set up some official visits."

Are there any other schools in the mix?

"Oh definitely," Fields said. "Purdue is still recruiting me hard and so is Cincinnati. Both of those schools have great programs and they are both undefeated. It's hard not to look at them.

"I don't think anyone should count Duke out either. Academics are very important to me and Duke is one of the best academic schools in the country. I also like their coaches a lot.

"There's just no clear-cut leader right now. I'm going to have a better idea on where everyone stands once I take my official visits.

"I'll get to see the facilities, the atmosphere , the campus, the academics and how well I get along with the coaches and the guys that are on the team."

Frankfort is 4-1 right now, Fields currently has 11 touchdowns fr
