Elliot Williams Sets His Decision Date

Elliot Williams is closing in on a decision. The 6-foot-4, 175-pound wing has set his visit date and he'll pick from a list of four schools.

It's almost decision time for Elliot Williams. The talented 2008 prospect has done his homework, is finished taking his official visits and recently set a date to announce his college decision.

"I'm almost ready to make my decision," Williams said. "I'm going to make it November 2nd. I'm probably going to do a press conference at my school."

"I'm just going to sit down with my family and discuss everything and hopefully make my decision by November 2nd."

The Collierville (Tenn.) St. George standout said that he's deciding between the four the schools that he took official visits to – Memphis, Tennessee, Virginia and Duke. He broke down each school and explained what he liked about each:

"With Memphis I just went on an official visit there and I have a good comfort level with them because it's my hometown. I get along with the players. I love Coach Calipari, he's a great coach. I just feel like it's a good fit for me."

"Tennessee is an in-state school and Coach Pearl has built a good program. I'm great with the team there and have a good relationship with the team and I feel like it's an upcoming program."

"Virginia was one of the first programs that recruited me and I've always liked Virginia for a while now, so I've building a good relationship with Coach Leitao since 10th grade. It's a great academic school, although all of the schools are great academic schools."

"With Duke, I'd love to play for Coach K. I took my first official visit there and they have a great core. They have great assistant coaches with Wojo, Collins and Dawkins. They've all been recruiting me and I have a great relationship with them. It's a great academic school."

Williams has clearly done his homework on the four schools involved, now the only thing left is to make a decision.

"We've done everything and it's a big decision for me," Williams said. "I just want to make the best decision for me. All four schools are even right now. I'm just taking it one day at a time and seeing which school is the best fit for me."

Williams is ranked No. 14 overall in the class of 2008.
