Duke Snags Nihja White

When speaking with pretty much any quarterback from the Northeast Region this year about the camp circuit the one named that repeatedly popped up as their favorite target was Berwyn, Pa., native Nihja White. When we released the Southeastern Pennsylvania All-Region team he was an easy choice because of these performances and recently we learned he'll continue them at Duke.

Nihja White may have played his final high school game last weekend, spraining his knee after a 10-catch, 194-yard performance where he also caught three touchdown passes. The 6-foot-1, 193-pound wide receiver will try and make it back for Conestoga High School's Thanksgiving Day Game, but today the focus was on his big decision to give a verbal commitment to the Duke Blue Devils.

"I just liked it so much when I went down there and felt so comfortable that it was just a matter of meeting players and talking to my family," White explained. "The players were all cool and I got to hang out with Thaddeus Lewis, Eron Riley and Gerald Henderson a lot, who I know personally from this area, which just made me feel more at home."

"When I got home I talked to both of my parents about going to school there and they both wanted that for me, so that was the choice I made," White said. "The great thing about Duke is that I will receive an education that will take me to new heights regardless of how my football career turns out. I'd like to attend their business school and try to stay in the sports field whether it is as an agent or something else. I've already met Coach Montgomery who is a good coach and has done a great job with Eron this year and will meet the rest of the staff on my official visit December 7th through the 9th.

White finished his senior year with 53 catches, 1079 yards and 19 touchdowns. He was also being recruited by Pittsburgh, Penn State, Boston College, Connecticut, Northwestern
