Singler Earns Second Straight ROW Award

For the second straight week, Duke freshman Kyle Singler was tabbed the ACC Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Singler, a forward from Medford, Ore., helped lead the No. 7 Blue Devils to a pair of wins over tough foes last week. In the two games he averaged 13.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists, while shooting 52.9 percent (9-of-17) from the field.

In the Big 10/ACC Challenge game against No. 20 Wisconsin, Singler guided Duke to an 82-58 victory with 13 points, six rebounds, one assist and one steal in 31 minutes. On Saturday the Blue Devils improved to 8-0 on the year behind Singler's second double-double of the season. He posted 14 points and matched a career high with 12 rebounds to go along with three assists and one blocked shot in 29 minutes of action.

Singler and the Blue Devils have one game this week as they host their third Big 10 opponent of the season. Duke already defeated Illinois, 79-66, in the semifinals of the Maui Invitational and Wisconsin, 82-58. On Saturday the Blue Devils will welcome Michigan to Cameron Indoor Stadium for a 2 p.m. showdown, which will be televised by CBS.
