"I think I am a pretty good contact runner. I love to hit people," added H.R. Greer.
And hitting people he will do plenty of on the next level as he will most likely move over from the feature back to the fullback position.
"I know that is where they want me, and I am all for doing what it takes to help the team out. I know what my role will be."
H.R. was selected to the Liberty Bowl All-Star game that was played two weeks back. It pitted the best of the best against one another from the Memphis surrounding area. This is where Greer caught the eye of Ole Miss.
"It all started since I decided to go to a private school. Your name is not out there as much so you have to earn it when you get a chance. I got a lot of respect during the All-star week with guys like Tenarius Wright. Coach Rodriquez from Ole Miss was at the All-star game, and he told me that I was the best player on the field. That really caught my attention. Then Coach Nutt called me the next day, and he told me that he was coming to see me as soon as the dead period was over. He was kind of laughing. He told me that when everyone finds out that they offered me, there will be like 10 others come after me. He couldn't believe that I had stayed under the recruiting radar this long. Coach Nutt said I reminded him a lot of Peyton Hillis. I am taking an official visit to Ole Miss on January 12th."
Have anymore colleges come calling?
"Memphis, Ole Miss, and maybe MSU. Coach Croom came over here last Spring, and I was suppose to go to one of their Liberty Bowl practices, but I did not make it out there."
Coach Cutcliffe took over the head job at Duke after returning to Tennessee as their offensive coordinator. It looks like Duke might also try to get in the game.
"Coach Cut called my head coach (Butch Veazey), and he told him that he was going to be in contact with me as soon as he can."
Are there any colleges out there that are not recruiting Greer that he would like to?
"I would not mind seeing Tennessee, and I also like Georgia's head coach a lot
