King Leads Duke Past Temple, 74-64

Taylor King scores a team high 15 as Duke moves to 12-1 on the season with a victory over the Temple Owls. WIth the victory, head coach Mike Krzyzewski moves into sixth on the all-time victory list.

With only one player taller than 6'6 available due to injuries to Lance Thomas and Brian Zoubek, the Blue Devils relied on their perimeter attack and a team rebounding effort to distance themselves from the Owls (6-7).

DeMarcus Nelson and Greg Paulus scored 13 points apiece, with Nelson adding a team best nine rebounds as the Blue Devils won for the eighth consecutive time in the series between the two teams.

Despite the lack of size, it appeared as though the Blue Devils were on their way to a blowout victory before Duke went ice cold from the field and failed to put a point on the board for more than eight minutes. The drought allowed Temple to whittle a 19 point advantage down to just eight before Kyle Singler made a pair of free throws to break the streak and Duke was able to hold on down the stretch.

For Temple, Dionte Christmas scored a game high 23 points, while Mark Tyndale added 20.

Thomas, who sat out with a respiratory infection, was replaced by third year sophomore David McClure in the starting lineup. McClure responded with four points and four rebounds in 19 minutes of action.

As a team, Duke was out-rebounded 45-38 and shot just 21-of-55 from the field.
