Irwin Becomes Cutcliffe's Second Commit

Sources indicate that Connor Irwin has committed to the Blue Devils over several Ivy League offers.

Connor Irwin, a 6-foot-5, 250lbs offensive lineman from Knoxville (Tenn.) Catholic High School committed to Duke last night according to sources close to the situation.

The son of former Tennessee standout Tim Irwin, who played in the NFL from 1981-94 for the Minnesota, Tampa Bay and Miami, Irwin visited Duke last weekend and was offered by Cutcliffe.

Irwin chose Duke over offers from Harvard, Brown, Cornell, and Pennsylvania and a chance to play as an invited walk-on for the Volunteers.

As a junior he played tight end, but moved to left tackle as a senior where he projects to continue his football career after a red-shirt season spent adding weight.
