Near Signing Day Changes Hit Durham

When signing day approaches there are usually some very interesting developments and it would appear that even though the Blue Devils were thought to be finished in the class of 2008 - things have changed. Late de-commits and another offer have all occurred in the last 24 hours.

Duke commitment Montel Harris, who was thought to be among the group of soild commits visited Boston College over the weekend and reports are surfacing that the two star running back has decided to switch his verbal commitment to the Eagles.

Harris, who has been unavailable to confirm or deny the reports to date, is rated as as a two star prospect and the nation's 137th rated running back by Scout.com. Previously he had visited Florida Atlantic and Duke officially after committing to the Blue Devils in May of 2007.

With Harris out of the picture, sources confirmed that Duke quickly moved to offer Alabama linebacking prospect Spencer Pybus, who had visited Duke two weeks previous.

A 6-0, 212-pound linebacker, who took an official visit to Auburn in January, he was offered on Tuesday and committed to the Tigers according to Northview Coach Chip Harris.

"He did receive an offer," Harris tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "He got an offer and he's heading Auburn's way."

Currently it is thought that Duke will begin concentrating efforts on the class of 2009
