Singler Named ACC ROW For Fourth Time

Duke freshman Kyle Singler was tabbed the ACC Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season on Monday after leading the Blue Devils to a pair of wins last week.

Singler, a forward from Medford, Ore., posted back-to-back double-doubles in the Blue Devils' two games this past week. In his first ever game against rival North Carolina, he finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals. He shot 5-of-11 from the field, 3-of-6 from three-point distance and 1-of-2 from the foul line in 37 minutes of action.

The freshman followed up his stellar performance against the third-ranked Tar Heels with an even better performance at home against Boston College when he recorded his fourth double-double of the season. He posted a team-high 24 points and 10 rebounds to go with one assist, one block and three steals. He hit 8-of-18 from the floor, 3-of-7 from beyond the arc and 5-of-7 from the charity stripe in 34 minutes.

On the season Singler is third among ACC rookies in scoring at 13.8 ppg. and fourth in rebounding with 6.1 rpg. Overall in the conference he is 16th in scoring and 17th in rebounding. In conference only games he ranks second among ACC freshmen in scoring (14.9 ppg.) and fourth in rebounding (6.1 rpg.). He is 13th overall in scoring, 18th in rebounding, tied for 10th in steals (1.56 spg.) and ninth with 2.11 made three-point field goals per game.

Singler and the Blue Devils will play two games this week. They host Maryland at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in Cameron Indoor Stadium and then travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. for a 7:30 p.m. contest with Wake Forest on Sunday.
