He is excited about the recruiting process, but still waiting for his first offer. Gilchrist explained, "I have several schools who want me at their camps."
Like many prospects Gilchrist is trying to get his name out to as many coaches as possible. One way of doing that is attending camps this summer.
He has been invited by many staffs to a variety of camps and is going to attend as many as possible in order to show his skills. Some of the schools include Tennessee, North Carolina, Duke, Michigan State, Alabama, Southern Miss, Vanderbilt and Middle Tennessee.
Gilchrist hopes schools will see him as a "balanced quarterback".
He explained, "I was mainly a throwing quarterback my sophomore year, but I've gotten faster. I think balance is one of strengths I have. I can throw it, but I can also pull it down and run it."
Like many recruits Gilchrist is beginning to compile a list of qualities he wants in his future college choice.
"Getting along with the coaches and finding a place where I am comfortable," he stated.
Many in the state look for Gilchrist to have a great senior season and hopefully secure some offers in the future. We will track his progress as he continues in the recruiting process and attends camps this summer.
