Vinson Impressed With Weekend At Duke

After returning home from his visit to Durham for the Duke-North Carolina game, Terrell Vinson had a lot on his mind. He let it sink in and then spoke with TDD about his impressions from his trip to Durham.

"It was a really great atmosphere," said the 6-foot-8, 200lbs power forward from Montrose Christian Academy. "I'd seen it on TV, but this was my first experience that close to the action. It was very impressive."

Rated as a four star prospect, Vinson has a steady number of teams coming into the recruiting process picture. Among those teams who have already offered are Memphis, Georgetown, Maryland, and Villanova. Those four schools with Duke make up Vinson's "unofficial" top five at this point, but does the lack of an offer from Duke put them at a disadvantage?

"Not really. Duke has been recruiting me for a while and they only have a few spots open. They've been up front with me."

Even without an offer the Blue Devils afforded Vinson the chance to attend Saturday's game, and to tour the new facilities in and around the Duke program - something that left an impression.

"Their new practice facility is state of the art. Everything is brand new and the best of the best. It was like something you'd expect to see for an NBA team."

Vinson is currently rated as the nation's 60th best prospect in the class of 2009 by Scout.com's Dave Telep.
