Thomas' surgery was to reconstruct a tendon tear on the fifth finger (pinkie) of his right hand. The 6-8, 220-pound forward started 28 games for the Blue Devils last season, averaging 4.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game, while shooting 50.5 percent (49-of-97) from the field. Thomas is expected to be sidelined for eight to 10 weeks.
Henderson & Thomas Undergo Surgery
Henderson had reconstructive surgery to repair a ligament tear in his right wrist. He injured the wrist in Duke's 89-78 win over North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Feb. 6 and played the final 13 games of the season with a brace on his shooting hand. Henderson finished the season third on the team in scoring (12.7 ppg.) and rebounding (4.7 rpg.), while leading the Blue Devils with 31 blocked shots. The 6-4, 210-pound guard shot 47.4 percent (156-of-329) from the field for the season. He is expected to be sidelined for 12 to 16 weeks.
