Cutcliffe Offers Florida TE

Paul Freedman, tight end from Clearwater-Central Catholic, (Fla.), is a huge prospect with an official offer from Florida Atlantic, and two ACC programs have extended verbals to the big body player.

"Virginia and Duke have verbally offered," said Paul Freedman. "They told me I would get the offer in the mail later this week. They are the only new schools who have offered. Ole Miss, Indiana and USF seem very interested."

"I really wanted offers from Virginia and Duke. They are both great academic schools. I have talked to the coaches for a while. Virginia won the ACC a couple years ago. Al Groh is a great coach. I really like Duke's program. It is up and coming."

"We had a lot of coaches come through during the spring. Florida, Boston College, Notre Dame and Georgia have all come to the school. I plan on visiting Virginia June 14. I would like to check out Wake Forest and Boston College during the summer as well."

A few other schools on Freedman's list include Wake Forest, Vanderbilt and Florida.

Wake Forest: "I am interested in the great academic schools. Winston-Salem is a great area. I definitely have interest in them and hope to check them out this summer."

Vanderbilt: "Vanderbilt is a great academic school. They play some great ball in the SEC. They have taken Florida to overtime the last two years. I am looking for the great combination."

Florida: "UF is my hometown school. When you grow up you want to play for Florida. Coach Urban Meyer is a great coach. They are a great academic school as well."

The 6-foot-6, 225-pound prospect is looking forward to the season after a promising spring.

"We have a lot of young guys," Freedman explained. "Everything is coming together. We have young kids, but they are buying into it. We have made a lot of great strides since the first day of practice. I feel a lot faster, stronger and more confident. It's just another year under my belt. I am in the best shape I have ever been in."

"I want to get bigger, stronger and faster this summer. I want to add some weight. I am going to be working out with my buddies who are playing D-l ball. I want to get in as good of shape as I can be in."

Freedman will take several unofficial visits this summer and is hopeful to add new offers. There is a chance he could have a decision reached before the season.

"It would be nice if I could make my mind up before my senior year, but if I am not ready I am not going to force anything," he said. "I want to be for sure. I think I will be able to make up my mind after I take some visits during the summer."
